Indian Military Service
Maruti Gypsy is currently sold in limited numbers only, with most units going to the Indian Army, while private sales only in very small numbers.
In late 2014, Maruti Suzuki received their largest single order of the Gypsy from the Indian Army, bidding through a Government deal. More than 4,000 Gypsys equipped with military specifications were sent to the Indian Army. Maruti Suzuki started off the deal with the Indian Army by delivering 1,500 Gypsy vehicles back in 1991. Subsequently, the Indian Army has purchased 31,000 units of Gypsy till date.
Farmworker 4x4 (New Zealand)
The Maruti Gypsy is also exported to New Zealand and is sold there as the Suzuki Farm Worker 4x4.
The Farm Worker is not able to be registered for road use, and therefore is sold as a purely offroad vehicle. Powered by a well-proven 1.3litre petrol engine, the Farm Worker is also equipped with selectable high/low ratio 4WD.
The Farm Worker is available in 4 versions: Farm Worker Versatile 4x4, Farm Worker Wellside 4x4, Farm Worker Multi Purpose 4x4, and Farm Worker Flatdeck 4x4, each with different body variations and roof covering.
